Puppies

My Shih Tzu, Olivia, had puppies three weeks ago. They are adorable. She had four and one died the next day. The other three are simply a delight! They are fat and fluffy and soft and sweet. They are just beginning to start walking and eating puppy food. I have never had the pleasure of having a litter of puppies before. l've had a lot of cats who had litters of kittens. Cats seem to do it all by themselves. When Olivia had her first puppy, she had been in her bed about all day long. At some point she came tearing down the hallway with what my husband and I thought was a squeaky toy. We couldn't figure out why she had developed all this energy all of a sudden since she had been so mopey all day. She caught sight of me in the kitchen and made a bee-line straight for me and dropped her "squeaky toy" at my feet. It was her first baby. She was in a panic and I had to spring into action. Watching her giving birth was amazing. She has turned into quite a good little mommy. And I am loving being a "Grandmother" to her babies.

My First Blog

I was just thinking that I should start a blog. I've never been much for journaling or keeping a diary, so this is a bit odd for me. It just seems like this thing to do.

Some things I am interested in are baking (I am currently experimenting with sour dough bread recipes and making my own starter). Sewing ( I have a Bernina sewing machine). Reading (mysteries, true crime stuff and the Bible [I know, these don't seem to go together]). And my two Shih Tzus Charlie and Olivia.

Verse for the day: Philippians 2:13: For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
